As we all know, technology enhances our daily lives and continues to get better with each passing day. Some technology that was once considered science fiction is today referred to as science. It’s no surprise then that we also expect this level of technological ease when it comes to working through the difficult time of a loved one’s passing.
One of our first clients, Round Hill Cemetery, and their office manager Cindy Fisher were featured in the Technology section of the August 2016 issue of American Cemetery and Cremation. The article focuses on Round Hill Cemetery’s conversion to a more tech-savvy stance by integrating our software Round Hill is more prepared to work with their clients, help show available plots, and even let a client find a loved one using our Walk-To-Site technology. “They will look online, and maybe find out where their family members are and see what’s available nearby. Then they like to come in and look at the site,” Fisher said (American Cemetery & Cremation, August 2016).
The fact that technology has changed the way we shop, the way we eat, how we communicate, and how we travel, it’s no surprise that technology is now helping to bring each of us closer to our departed loved ones. The use of the internet as a tool by cemeteries was cited in the article and our Chief Operating Officer, Scott McAfee, was quoted, “I think in the near future it is going to be a tool that a lot of cemeteries are going to take advantage of,” (American Cemetery & Cremation, August 2016).
